Part 1 – Crowning Glory

It’s the crowning glory, a tiered triumph, a reflection of your style and literally of your taste.  It’s the finishing touch and the piece de resistance… your wedding cake!

Today, the wedding cake is more symbolic of the purity of a couple’s love and their desire to share and celebrate this love with family and friends.  Sharing a piece of wedding cake is generally the final celebratory activity before a couple departs the reception to begin their lives together.

Over the years, wedding cakes have evolved to include majestic tiers piled high, to variations of whipped, rolled, boiled and royal icings, a variety of delicious flavors, fillings, and decorations, limited only by one’s imagination.

Usually the wedding cake will reflect the style and colors of the wedding.  If traditional, a beautiful white confection towering on multiple tiers will delight guests.  For a garden wedding, a couple may choose to decorate their cake with the flowers represented throughout the celebration.
