Honeymoon Checklist

Right about now you’re probably having visions of palm trees with the sun setting over a clear ocean while you lay in a hammock with your new bride. Or perhaps you’re trekking across Europe, making sure to stop at each major landmark you’ve heard about. Whether sand and surf, exotic and historical or anywhere in between, you’ll want to make sure you’re prepared for your honeymoon.

Before you go there are some things to keep in mind. First off, make sure your destination is clear for travel when you’re planning on going. No one wants to get stuck on vacation in the middle of hurricane or monsoon season. Once you’ve got the date set for your wedding and honeymoon, a shopping spree may be in order to get the right wardrobe and accessories for your trip.

The technicalities of traveling to remember include: your passports, travelers checks, credit cards, driver’s licenses, and travel itineraries. Make copies of your credit card information and passports in case they are misplaced during your travel.

One of the most important topics is the after party…your honeymoon! You’ve had an entire day of running around, reciting your vows, changing your name, celebrating…and now it is time to relax and enjoy.

Accessorizing for your honeymoon is a great way to add flair to your outfit. Getting away to a remote island somewhere to soak up the sun? His and her flip flops make a great statement; basic black for him and a white pair for you with a little lace trim on the sides. Throw in a sun hat with your new name embroidered on it and you are ready to go!

For those of you interested in traveling comfortably, throw on a pair of comfy sweats with your new last name on them and a cap with a small veil attached to it. Looking for something classy? Basic pearls dress up any outfit…especially if they are the pearls you wore on your wedding day.

However you choose to accessorize your honeymoon, this is your time to celebrate in a style that’s your own as you start your new life together.
