A great way to accessorize your wedding dress is with a veil or a headpiece. Veils and headpieces vary in style, size and price. When choosing this accessory it’s important to consider the style of your dress. Are you wearing something formal or casual? Is it floor length or short? Also consider the material. If your dress is covered in lace, you may lean toward a simpler veil or headpiece.

Ever wonder about the history of the veil? The wedding veil was originally used to keep the bride from evil spirits and groomsmen that might be tempted to steal the bride away on her day. Using a veil concealed the bride’s beauty until she was safely married off and safe from other suitors. As the belief goes, the veil should not be lifted until prior to the end of the ceremony.

Whether you believe in the history of the veil or not, using an accessory that compliments your dress can add extra charm to your overall look.

Happy Planning!
